Iron County RealtorsĀ® Pitch in to Help 200 Local Families with Food Donations
Approximately 200 families of students in the Iron County School District received boxes of food donations last month, just in time for the holidays.

This annual initiative was led by members of the Iron County Board of Realtors® and their affiliates, who worked together to make a meaningful difference in the community.

Volunteers began the effort at Smith’s grocery store in Cedar City, loading perishable items such as turkeys, hams, and bread onto trucks. The group then gathered at the Iron County Board of Realtors® office to sort, package, and prepare the donations for delivery to local schools on the second-to-last day before the holiday break.

School officials discreetly notified parents about how and where to pick up the boxes, each containing approximately $75–$100 worth of food.

Mary Ann Sharp, CEO of the Iron County Board of Realtors®, highlighted the success of the drive, which marked its third consecutive year. The campaign officially kicked off in November with a lighthearted fundraiser where donations determined which board directors received a pie in the face.

“After raising the money, we partnered with Smith’s to order the food,” Sharp explained. “Smith’s not only sold us the food at cost but also generously included packages of sliced ham in every box. Their support has been incredible year after year.”

Sharp extended her gratitude to Smith’s managers—Vickie, Stephanie, and Jeff—for their generosity, and to Tracy Womack, the Iron County School District’s homeless liaison, along with other district officials who helped identify families most in need. The district’s food pantry also contributed significantly to the effort.
“So many volunteers donated their time to make this happen,” Sharp added, expressing appreciation for the collective effort.
  

This annual food drive is a testament to the power of collaboration and community support. The Iron County Board of Realtors® and their affiliates continue to demonstrate how coming together can bring relief and joy to local families, especially during the holiday season.
